Causal inference with a mediated proportional hazards regression model

چکیده

The natural direct and indirect effects in causal mediation analysis with survival data having one mediator is addressed by VanderWeele. He derived an approach for (1) accelerated failure time regression model general cases (2) a proportional hazards when the time-to-event outcome rare. If not rare, then VanderWeele did derive simple closed-form expression log-natural because baseline cumulative hazard function does zero. We develop two approaches to extend VanderWeele’s approach, which assumption of rare required. obtain specific points through numerical integration after we calculate applying Breslow method Cox estimate unspecified hazard; assuming piecewise constant model, yielding parametric hazard. conduct simulation studies compare our other methods illustrate them from ASsessment, Serial Evaluation, Subsequent Sequelae Acute Kidney Injury (ASSESS-AKI) Consortium.

Robust Inference for Univariate Proportional Hazards Frailty Regression Models

We consider a class of semiparametric regression models which are one-parameter extensions of the Cox [J. Roy. Statist. Soc. Ser. B 34 (1972) 187–220] model for right-censored univariate failure times. These models assume that the hazard given the covariates and a random frailty unique to each individual has the proportional hazards form multiplied by the frailty. The frailty is assumed to have...

Proportional Hazards Regression with Unknown Link Function

Proportional hazards regression model assumes that the covariates affect the hazard function through a link function and an index which is a linear function of the covariates. Traditional approaches, such as the Cox proportional hazards model, focus on estimating the unknown index by assuming a known link function between the log-hazard function and covariates. A linear link function is often e...

Bayesian proportional hazards model with time-varying regression coefficients: a penalized Poisson regression approach.

One can fruitfully approach survival problems without covariates in an actuarial way. In narrow time bins, the number of people at risk is counted together with the number of events. The relationship between time and probability of an event can then be estimated with a parametric or semi-parametric model. The number of events observed in each bin is described using a Poisson distribution with t...

Time-dependent covariates in the Cox proportional-hazards regression model.

The Cox proportional-hazards regression model has achieved widespread use in the analysis of time-to-event data with censoring and covariates. The covariates may change their values over time. This article discusses the use of such time-dependent covariates, which offer additional opportunities but must be used with caution. The interrelationships between the outcome and variable over time can ...

Sample-size formula for the proportional-hazards regression model.

A formula is derived for determining the number of observations necessary to test the equality of two survival distributions when concomitant information is incorporated. This formula should be useful in designing clinical trials with a heterogeneous patient population. Schoenfeld (1981, Biometrika 68, 316-319) derived the asymptotic power of a class of statistics used to test the equality of t...
